A Health Coach is a supportive mentor and wellness advocate who helps others feel their best through individualized food and lifestyle changes that meet their unique needs and health goals. Oftentimes, Health Coaches can provide their services in private coaching practices with one-on-one and group coaching.
Health coaching isn’t about one diet or one way of living. Instead, as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, I focus on Bio-individuality – the idea that we’re all different and have unique dietary, lifestyle, emotional, and physical needs. This means that I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to health and wellness. Instead, I work with clients to help them discover how to fuel their Bodies, Minds, and Spirits and become the healthiest, happiest versions of themselves.
Integrative Nutrition Health Coaches are revolutionizing the healthcare system through the power of nutrition, primary food, active listening, high-mileage questions, goal setting, and other techniques unique to health coaching. Today, 70% of deaths each year are caused by chronic illnesses, but only 3% of our healthcare dollars are spent on preventive care. That’s where Integrative Health Coaching comes in. While the average visit to the doctor only lasts eight minutes, the average health coaching session is 50 minutes twice a month – an in-depth conversation between Health Coaches and their clients. It’s evident that Health Coaches are filling a vital gap between patients and doctors.
My own journey trying to find a healthy lifestyle has given me insight into the many challenges one encounters along the way. I realized - early on - that there was no one path to wellness and there always seemed to be a need for balance between the body, mind, and spirit. This encouraged me to pursue educating myself in several different areas. My education as an IIN Certified Health Coach included learning over 100 dietary theories, and training lectures by visiting teachers such as Joan Borysenko, PhD., Andrew Weil, MD, Joshua Rosenthal, M. Ed., Andrea Beaman, CHC, and Walter Willet, MD - just to name a few. I hold a B.S. in Organizational Leadership, a Certification in Bereavement Studies (Grief), and as an NYS Certified Addiction Recovery Coach and Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC-t) I have achieved a Master of Science degree in Health Coaching with a concentration in Applied Nutrition (12/19). I have taken Advanced Courses through IIN in Gut Biome, Thyroid, and Hormone Health. I am also well-versed in several Spiritual Principles and I am happy to journey with anyone looking to explore or regenerate their Spiritual Wellness. One size does not fit all and to remove "Dis-Ease", it's great to take a holistic and proactive approach to health. This enables me to bring a high level of empathy, respect, and understanding. I would be honored to take that journey with you.
When I'm not "Health Coaching", I enjoy creating Essential Oil blends, cooking, reading great non-fiction, visiting farmer's markets, day trips, movies, and music events, and, of course, spending time with my loved ones.
Extensive life experience allows me to guide you. My client success stories reflect my ability to, time after time, help clients improve their health and achieve a higher level of life satisfaction.
As a Holistic Health Coach, my education and training complete my coaching through the S.M.A.R.T. method and Bio-Individuality – allowing me to provide you, the client, with the tools and methods you really need. Body, Mind, and Spirit come together holistically, to achieve your Health and Wellness goals.
I am available to support Women going through Menopause/Life Changes and clients of all "gender" identities who are (or wish to be) in Recovery from addictions. I am available for hire as a Personal Recovery Coach. Because releasing an addiction (alcohol, drugs, and food are just some of them), is a Body, Mind, and Spiritual experience, I can incorporate a Holistic Program of learning how to live a cleaner, healthier life. I am also available for those who may be experiencing Grief Issues over the loss of a Loved One, Divorce, Job/Career, or Home. I offer innovative coaching methods, and practical lifestyle management techniques. Because I believe that "One Size Does NOT fit all" and ascribe to exploring both Primary and Secondary food in an individual's life.
I am also available for consultations to create/offer workshops around Health and Wellness, Grief Issues, and Spirituality.

"Working with Margaret was exactly the supported start I was looking for this year. I am changing some habits, as well as feeling and becoming healthier. It has raised my awareness of why I was making some of the choices I was making and made it possible to do something to CHANGE! This process has slowed me down, reminded me that I do not need to be Wonder Woman. I am enough." - Meghan S.
"She is my Health Coach Goddess!" - Robyn S.
"I really didn't think it would work. She told me to try. I did and it worked!" - Joan B.
"I really appreciated that you kept in touch. And I can see the progress I've made." - Maureen K.

Question: What is the difference between a Health Coach, Dietitian, and Nutritional Counselor?
Answer: In a nutshell, degrees, legal, and whether or not they are covered by insurance companies. Dietitians have strict guidelines they must follow, they can diagnose and work with disease management. Nutritional Counselors can prescribe specific diets but cannot diagnose. Health Coaches cannot diagnose or prescribe, but guide clients toward basic health goals of eating healthier for weight loss and encourages looking at the client's whole life health.
Question: Can you get me off of my meds?
Answer: No. But if you are working with a medical doctor or NP who prescribes for you, I can work with them to support you if that is what is agreed/encouraged by your health practitioner.
Question: How can I pay for your services?
Answer: Currently, I accept Venmo or Paypal for payment.
